    Silver Red Coral 1

    Ilaria Perra, 2018

    Print on brushed aluminium

    Size: W28 x H21 cm

    Limited edition of 25

Ilaria is an artist working in multiple media and disciplines. For these prints on aluminium, she uses original photographs and digital-generated fractal art as the base and gives them an etching effect obtained by time consuming digital manipulation of colour and texture. Her aim is to recreate the etching effect without the use of chemicals and lengthy process that the actual etching plates require. The results are printed straight onto the surface of the brushed aluminium Dibond panel using UV Fine Art pigments in a 7-colour print process. The bright parts of the image are omitted from the print, leaving the brushed aluminium visible.

Silver Red Corals 1 is a composite of Ilaria's digital fractal art that is inspired by the natural wonders of the sea such as coral formations, waves and sand dunes sculpted by the ocean. She uses generative art to create interesting textures, making her final artwork in collaboration with the computer, playing with mathematical calculations, such as speed flow, light, textures, colour, and direction. This process can be lengthy, virtually never ending which requires discipline and control in order to obtain a particular result. This technology offers endless possibilities; the challenge is to know when to stop. This work is available in different sizes. Please email info@mintarts.com with your requirement.
