Rebecca Tucker, 2021
Acrylic & spray paint on board, framed
Size: W32 x H32 x D3.5cm
Working with negative space and tricking the eye into paying attention to the spaces in between, using layers and texture to suggest depth and space but on closer inspection allowing the viewer to revel in the effect of the paint and colour on the surface. This paintings sits on the borderline between abstracted and representational, and deliberately doesn’t fall into either camp.

Artist: Rebecca Tucker
Rebecca Tucker is a Lancashire born-London based painter, whose works are the result of a visual ‘discussion’ between abstract and more representational methods of depicting landscape and the natural world. Using colour, texture, line and layers Rebecca is keen to play with the viewers perception of space in artworks (and what would traditionally constitute a ‘landscape’) and then pull that preconceived idea back to the appreciation of what are essentially abstract marks on a two dimensional surface.
Rebecca studied Fine Art at Reading University. She owns and runs a successful interior design company in Wimbledon.
