Quink prints start their life as paintings, created using large quantities of glues and inks poured onto sheets of perspex or acrylic mirror. The drying process can take anywhere up to three weeks. When something extraordinary occurs as a result of the liquids movement, a photograph is taken which is then developed into a print. As the painting continues to move, what has occurred will often disappear, left only to exist as a print.

    Jake Oliver-FishmanArtist: Jake Oliver-Fishman

Jake is a graduate of University of West England. He is interested in exploring materials possibilities and their potential to be applied to everyday objects and events, as a means of transforming the ordinary into something of interest.

"There are two sides to my art practice, my studio based sculptures and paintings and that which is created within the public domain. When creating work outside, people are confronted with possibilities to interact in seemingly pointless behaviour, where a willingness to engage with the unfamiliar and a desire to play are prioritised. An action that may initially seem absurd, can quickly become ‘normal’ when carried out. Encouraging people to be active in engaging with the everyday world around them is key to what I make and do."
